Courage Washers

Fun washer tutorials are all over online. I watched THIS one and knew I wanted to do something more with washers. I'm not sure if these people are the ones who came up with putting paper on the washers but it was helpful.
For the courage washers I followed my own tutorial HERE. I made mine into a necklace but there are so many things you can do! Maybe a bracelet or a key chain? Perfect for a YW activity or camp :)

If you know me you know I don't like to wait for things to dry so I did things slightly different from the video tutorial above :) I made this necklace in about 5 mins. Can't beat that. I'm *thinking* about selling these as kits in my etsy shop. The washer would be hand stamped and included. I can't tell you enough how fun this was to make. I want to make some more but now that I'm working with the scouts what would I do with them?!

Thanks to my friend Michelle for taking the pictures above. She is fabulous and I love how the pictures turned out. If you haven't gotten a chance read about her project below :)

2010 Mutual Projects and Patterns :)

I'm finally finished making projects for next years mutual there. Hooray! I can't promise I'm done. I might add a few next year.

Today might be your lucky day if you like free patterns. I know I do. It always makes me smile when I find one :) Let's get this party started....

This next project has two patterns. It started out just one big word but I altered it. You get both patterns!

I'm adding in one last fun free pattern that has nothing to do with the mutual theme. It's from our ward's YWIE last year. To read more about it go HERE.

Well that's about it! Feel free to voice your opinions. You can e-mail me with any questions (beachellfamily02@hotmail.com). If you live in the NW come on over to my house and I will give you a hand. I love to help out when I can. Also all of these projects will be listed in my etsy shop as kits (http://www.undermyumbrella.etsy.com/). Make it a great day :)

2010 Mutual Crafts

In my spare time (I'm laughing) I have been working on projects for next years mutual theme...

“Be strong and of a good courage;
be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:
for the Lord thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9
I have come up with 5 different projects. I know...out of control. I started with two and it just spiraled from there. Three of the projects stick to the theme and two are a little different. Is different a good word? Maybe I should describe them as special. I picked a word I thought would be a good focus for the year. Courage. Right away I liked this word and thought of it's importance for today's youth. Slight problem. I really wanted to include my fav part of the theme "for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." No clue as how this was going to happen. That's a whole lot of words to cut out! If you know me you would know when you say a word I can sing a song with that word. As I focused on Courage I started to sing "Courage, for the Lord is on our side". For those who don't know that verse is from the song "Let Us All Press on". Perfect! A project is born....

I will post a project a day for the next 4 days. Please give me your opinion of likes and dislikes. It's good to hear feedback! I will post a pattern to this project today or tomorrow..now back to cutting out nativity sets :)
