Organization...It helps!
Opening exercises can be a crazy time for our YW group. Lots of talking and confusion of who is doing what. As a presidency we discussed how we could make it less noisy and more reverent. This is what we can up with...
Believe it or not...IT WORKS! This is out on my garage door but typically it will be on the chalkboard. Everything you see has magnets glued on to them so we can put them up and easily take them down. The girls love it! As I was showing the laurel secretary her job of putting it up and taking it down one of the other laurels came up to me and said "It's so beautiful I have chills". I'm pretty sure that's a good thing. Everyone can see what is going on and when it's their turn to do their job. Before we always got a lot of "What? Who me? It's my turn?". Now No more of those questions! I found the YW theme and mutual theme HERE. Wendy did the sewing and the cute bows on the themes.

What a clever (and adorable) idea! I'm not in YW right now, but when I am again I'm totally stealing this! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! I would love a closer look at all the fun things. Would you be willing to post a few more pics that are closer up?? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to come up with some kind of re-usable outline for opening exercises. This is so much better than anything I have thought of! This looks fantastic! I'd love some closer pictures and maybe some instructions! (if you don't mind getting copied!)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a name thingie. Sigh. JK, Love you!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous idea!!! I have been trying to come up with something to make our opening exercises more organized and reverent. This is perfect!!!! I would love to make my own version of this! Thanks for sharing your talent!!!
ReplyDeleteI did something like this when I was teaching Seminary too. It really worked well and, since I would put it up at the end of class the morning before, there was no trading jobs. I also listed the reading assignment for the night and what we were going to be covering in class so that they always knew right where we were.
